The event’s Royal theme was complete with red carpet, horn players greeting guests as they arrived, string quartet, and even the Queen herself!

The 18th century created by Mrs. Ivanova’s costume class fit fabulously into the theme.Marie Antoinette style costumes

The models doubled as mannequins-standing stone-still, only occasionally changing positions. This, combined with the whimsical dresses, and perfectly executed make-up, one would have thought he or she was looking at a masterpiece painting from the 1700’s.

The guests were clearly impressed, taking pictures and talking excitedly about the show. Overall, the theme and music paired with the Art Institute students creations gave the feel of stepping back in time. Cheers!

Fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue featuring the Escada Spring/Summer 2008 collection

escada/AIFLThe AiFL students in Ms. Pierre’s Fashion Show Production class got a taste of what it’s like behind the scenes at a real, live fashion show. We were given the opportunity to attend the event and lend a very much needed helping hand. We took part in the preparations needed for each individual outfit; organized and arranged the clothing racks, assembled each outfit accordingly, and had them all set and ready to go for show time.

We were each assigned a model [some students had 2 models] that we had to help dress & undress into their designated outfits as quickly as possible. We successfully pulled it off, on time, with no hassles or mistakes. It was such a thrill and a wonderful experience.

Ms. Pierre was a great mentor throughout the entire process. It was a pleasure working with the staff from Saks, Ms. Pierre, and my fellow classmates.
