The yearly Food and Wine festival was a great success this weekend Saturday May 15th, in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas! The American Lung Association of Florida under the direction of their regional director Paula Predergast showcased the Food and Wine Festival.  This event attracted more than 2,000 people. The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Fashion Honors Group, instructors Andre West and Chrisa Tatakis, with the help of Aveda Hair and Make-up directed and produced the fashion side of this iconic show. All the garments were inspired by food and wine and designed by…you guessed it the fashion design students of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Las Olas was turned in to celebration of food and wine.

Kentucky Derby Gives Back

The Kentucky Derby was the theme of the weekend at Passions Night club Hard Rock on Saturday, May 1st 2010. What better way to celebrate? Than hats, day dresses, food, champagne and Oh yes of course…a fabulous fashion show directed by The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale honors group.  Everyone was in theme, and excited to witness the creative hat designs of the Honors’ students. Each hat was inspired by: different events, cities, sceneries, and festivals of the world.   The hats were then auctioned off to the public. The proceeds raised went to the Ann Stork Center Charity, and we must add that the bids were very generous.  As the Honors group we couldn’t be more excited and pleased with the end result and the wonderful cause we contributed to.
