Concept to Creation

Neiman Marcus at the Boca Raton Town Center mall held AIFL’s fashion students “Concept to Creation” event on Saturday November 13, 2010. Both merchandisers and designers had the chance to showcase their draping, styling, and illustration skills. Five merchandisers, Samantha Georgakopolos, Beth Wendelschaefer, Stacey Berthil, Erin Klein, and Jackie Dawson were the stylists of the day. They had free range to select from the fabulous designer merchandise in all departments in Neiman Marcus.

The girls split up into two teams and were like kids in a candy store pulling items from designers such as Alice + Olivia, St. John, Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin.  Each team had a model to style and were able to create multiple looks that were on display for the Saturday afternoon shoppers.

Neiman_Marcus Two of the fashion designers, Mitchell Perry and Aijamal Baetova , brought fabric with them to show their draping skills that they have perfected in class. The sky was the limit for these two to drape their own creation. Two other fashion designers, Jessica Frey and Asinti, got their illustration on and sketched out their fashion visions. AIFL created quite the buzz as onlookers were intrigued and impressed with the creative skills of our students.
